It was originally a fast-paced song( which i have yet to listen to it.) written by 馬兆駿 (Ma Zhao Jun) performed by 刘文正 (Liu Wen Zheng), but the version I heard was a slow-rock version re-arranged by Leehom. He performed it at Ma Zhao Jun's Remembrance Concert, MZJ passed away last year during the week of Chinese New Year when he fell down the stage, suffering a heart-attack. He(MZJ) has written fantastic songs throughout his career as a singer/song writer/ composer and helped a number of artist to break into the music scene [ i.e Teresa Teng]. Especially this particular song, "請留住你的腳步" was one of his prime works as a singer/writer. It's such a beautiful song, even though heart wrenching, but ultimately beautiful. Leehom did this song justice as so many renditions of this song has been made(I have heard a couple), this by far is the best. I am not saying this because I enjoy Leehom's music, but he really did this song justice. Anyway, why in the world did I blog about him when I had every intention to blog about something else which I have lost along the way trying to translate the song... oh well, I will blog some other day. |
